Ready to announce our next book project is in the works… Join in as some of our local youth read from VOL. 1 “Friday Harbor First Person”. The community is invited to this free event. We will enjoy seeing old friends and making new friends in this casual and informal gathering to celebrate the stories of 11 elders from our community. Hope to see you there! Here are a few photos from our first gathering earlier this year. We have saved 10 books to giveaway today at this event, first come, first serve. They are complimentary thanks to a generous grant from the San Juan Island Community Foundation.
We have donated books to the local San Juan Island Library, The San Juan Historical Museum and shared them with community members. Hope you get a chance to read the entertaining and heartfelt stories our youth discovered in their oral history interviews of these local elders.
